Women have taken to the streets in the Angwan Rukuba community of Plateau State carrying leaves and chanting to prevent the planned Mass burial of victims of the recent attack in the area.
The protest by the Women is due to allegations that military authorities have arrested three youths from the community as part of investigations into last Sunday’s killings.
The situation escalated as angry youths and women locked the entrance of the church where the mass burial was scheduled to take place.
It will be recalled that unknown gunmen wildly speculated to be either bandits or ethnic Militia had attacked and killed several residents of the community prompting a Presidential visit.
The President, Bola Tinubu, had promised a reinforced security presence and the installation of 5000 AI enabled CCTV to ensure 24 hour round the clock coverage of the State.
