A senior commander of terrorist organisation Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Sheikh Yousuf Afridi, was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

The incident happened on Sunday, April 26. The attackers opened fire at close range, leaving him with no chance to escape, before fleeing the scene, as per multiple media reports.

Afridi was considered a close associate of Hafiz Saeed and held a significant position within the militant organisation. He had been actively involved in militant operations for a long period.
Following the incident, security agencies cordoned off the area and launched an investigation.

Authorities are yet to identify the attackers, and no group has claimed responsibility so far. Officials are also examining the possibility of a targeted killing.
