The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has vowed that the United States will destroy any vessel found laying mines in the Strait of Hormuz, as tensions with Iran continue to escalate over control of the strategic waterway.

In a post shared on Truth Social, Trump said he had ordered the United States Navy to take immediate and decisive action against any boats suspected of deploying mines in the area.

“I have ordered the United States Navy to shoot and kill any boat, small boats though they may be… that is putting mines in the waters of the Strait of Hormuz,” he wrote. “There is to be no hesitation. Additionally, our mine ‘sweepers’ are clearing the Strait right now.”

The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most critical maritime routes, serving as a key passage for global oil shipments. Any disruption in the area is often viewed as a major threat to international energy security.

Trump’s statement comes amid rising tensions involving Iran and Western powers, with concerns growing over possible disruptions to maritime traffic in the region.
