Former Arsenal coach, Arsene Wenger remains convinced the Gunners will end their long wait for the title, despite surrendering six points in successive matches.
NOP NIGERIA reports that the Gunners were beaten 2-1 at home by AFC Bournemouth before suffering another 2-1 loss away to Manchester City on Sunday.
Coach Pep Guardiola and his boys can move above Arsenal if they defeat Burnley at Turf Moor at 8 p.m. on Wednesday night, April 22.
Yet Wenger believes the title race still favours his former side.
“I believe that Arsenal will win the league. I deeply believe,” he said.
“It looks, to me, like commonsense.
“I like Eze, Odegaard, Havertz and Madueke attacking (intent at the Etihad).
“Manchester City will not make the perfect run-in.”
The defeat at the Etihad left both teams reliant on each other dropping points. Even if Arsenal win all their remaining matches, City could still match them and claim the crown on goal difference. The reverse scenario also remains possible.
Manchester City’s midweek fixture means Arsenal may not be top by the time they next play. However, Mikel Arteta’s side will have a chance to respond quickly with home games against Newcastle United and Fulham before City travel to face Everton on May 4.
