Governor Mai Mala Buni on Thursday April 23, 2026 presided over a meeting of Yobe State’s All Progressives Congress (APC) critical stakeholders, including National Assembly members, present and former ministers, present and former deputy governors, State House of Assembly members, commissioners, and state and local government area party chairmen, among other critical stakeholders.

The highlight of the meeting was a motion moved by former Senate President Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan and seconded by the Speaker of the Yobe State House of Assembly, Chiroma Buba Mashio, endorsing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in office, with an assurance that the state would deliver 3.5 million votes for him.

Declaring the meeting open, Governor Buni said the gathering demonstrated the state’s commitment to unity, peace, and prosperity.

He noted that Yobe has remained a leading example of unity in Nigeria despite past security challenges.

“We have never allowed violence in our political life. The state’s alignment with the APC since 2015 has facilitated reconstruction and recovery programmes,” Buni said.

He called on the people of Yobe to once again support the party and endorse President Tinubu, “who was chosen to serve the country and whom we humbly endorse.”

The APC state critical stakeholders’ meeting continued in a closed-door session after the opening, with the endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in office.
