A governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Yobe state, Barr. Kashim Musa Tumsah, on Friday, said the people of Yobe are clamoring for a genuine shift from the status quo, assuring that he is the candidate best positioned to lead the transformation.

Speaking to journalists in Damaturu during the wedding ceremony of the Emir of Bade’s children, Tumsah said he was confident in the growing grassroots support for his ambition.

“The people of Yobe need a desired change. That desire is an indication that they want a new direction, and they see that change coming from me.

“They are willing to give me the support to provide the leadership that will deliver the change they seek. By Almighty Allah’s grace, we shall not disappoint them,” he said.

He assured residents of the state saying, “Good things are coming. They should expect something different, and hopefully, by Allah’s grace, everything will go well,”

Reacting to speculations about the APC’s primary election process, Tumsah dismissed fears that the exercise might not hold.

“So far, the APC has not come out with any authentic statement on what type of primaries to be conducted, so I don’t think there are any signs that indicate there would be no primaries,” he said.
