Pastor Jerry Eze, founder of Streams of Joy International, has revealed that he wept and prayed against EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede during an Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) investigation into his church finances.

Speaking in a media coverage on Channels TV, with the EFCC chairman present, Pastor said, “I remember that the EFCC chairman was talking about the investigation and he’s saying it and he’s happy. He’s saying it, and he’s smiling. But he didn’t know the kind of torment I went through. I mean, I remember talking to Pastor Poju at the time. I remember talking to Pastor Sarah. I remember I’m like, ‘What did I do? I’ve not done anything. I don’t know why these people are after me.’ You did me wrong and I’m going to say it, I cried and put your name on the altar.”

Pastor Jerry said the experience was deeply unsettling precisely because he knew he had done nothing wrong, making the investigation feel all the more unjust.

However, he said his feelings shifted entirely when Olukoyede personally reviewed the books, found nothing incriminating, and called him in not to prosecute him but to commend him.
