2027: My Defence Minister Will Be a Drone — Sowore Unveils Anti-Insecurity Plan

AAC presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has said he would deploy technology, drones and a central control system to tackle insecurity if elected President in 2027.

Sowore made the statement during an interview on Arise Television’s Prime Time, where he argued that Nigeria must confront banditry, terrorism and other violent crimes with modern equipment, intelligence and coordinated operations.

According to him, the country needs honest and accountable security leaders who are focused on protecting citizens, not politics or misuse of power.

“If I become the president of Nigeria tomorrow, my Minister of Defence would be a drone, that’s how much I believe in technology,” Sowore said.

He added that his government would establish a control centre where security personnel can track threats in real time and respond swiftly to dismantle criminal networks.

Sowore said the fight against insecurity must go beyond military action, stressing that government must also build a society where people can access education, jobs and decent opportunities.

His comments come as insecurity remains one of Nigeria’s biggest national concerns, with kidnappings, banditry and violent attacks affecting several states.
