The factional chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Nafi’u Bala, has denied reports suggesting he expressed regret over his role in the party’s internal crisis.
Bala also dismissed claims that his life was under threat, describing the viral report as false and malicious.
The former ADC governorship candidate in Gombe State had been quoted as saying he regretted his involvement in the party’s crisis and feared for his safety as the situation had allegedly escalated beyond control.
Reacting in a statement on Sunday, Bala refuted the claims, insisting he neither granted any interview nor authorised anyone to speak on his behalf.
He described the publication as “false, malicious, and deliberately crafted to damage my integrity.”
According to him, his actions within the party followed due process, particularly after the resignation of the former National Chairman, Ralph Nwosu, on July 2, 2025.
Bala further stressed that reports suggesting he expressed regret or attempted to distance himself from the leadership dispute were entirely untrue.
“I have not instructed anyone, including the individual mentioned in the publication, to make statements on my behalf. Such claims should be disregarded,” he said.
