Ademola Lookman scored for the second consecutive game as Atletico Madrid defeated Girona FC 1-0 in their final home match of the season on Sunday.
The Super Eagles forward had also found the net in Atletico’s 2-1 victory over Osasuna last week, continuing his strong finish to the campaign.
Lookman strikes early for Atletico
Lookman scored the decisive goal in the 21st minute, tapping in from close range after a dangerous low delivery from Antoine Griezmann.
The goal was enough to secure all three points for Diego Simeone’s side, who successfully held off Girona’s attempts to find an equaliser.

Nigerian winger continues solid run
The strike took Lookman’s La Liga tally to four goals in 11 appearances this season.
Across all competitions, the 28-year-old has now contributed nine goals and three assists for Atletico since joining the club.
Girona pushed closer to relegation
The defeat leaves Girona deep in relegation trouble. They sit 18th in the table with 40 points, two behind 17th-placed Levante UD with only one match remaining.
Girona must now beat Elche in their final fixture and hope results elsewhere go in their favour to avoid relegation.
Meanwhile, Atletico moved level on points with third-placed Villarreal ahead of their final league meeting next Sunday.
