Alice’s body was discovered by a group of women fetching firewood inside Bar Kowino Forest four days after she went missing . Autopsy results showed that the second-year Bachelor of Education Science student died from blunt force trauma to the head.

The 20-year-old’s family painfully mourned her, demanding justice.

Alice was laid to rest in an emotional burial in Itibo, Suneka, Kisii County. Her funeral was attended by thousands of mourners, with grief written all over their faces.

Was Alice Riang’a’s boyfriend arrested?

In a separate story, police officers in Bondo sub-county, Siaya County, arrested another man believed to be the other boyfriend of the 20-year-old student.

Alice’s roommate, Kayla Wanyonyi, filed a missing person report only for her description to match a body recovered the day before, which belonged to the slain student.

Later, a Tanzanian gold dealer, Maximillian John Madeni, who is alleged to be another boyfriend of Alice, was arrested in connection with her murder. Bondo Sub-County Police Commandant Robert Aboki revealed that investigations were ongoing.
