Atiku Consulting ADC Leaders, Members Over 2027 Presidential Bid — Aide

A media aide to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Mr Paul Ibeh, has said the former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate is fully committed to contesting the 2027 presidential election.

Ibeh stated this in a post on X on Tuesday while responding to a question from human rights lawyer, Inibehe Effiong, who asked whether Atiku was genuinely preparing for another presidential run.

“Is @atiku really serious about contesting for the presidency in 2027?” Effiong had written on X.

Responding, Ibeh said Atiku is currently consulting with leaders, stakeholders and members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) on the viability of his candidacy ahead of the next general election.

According to him, if Atiku eventually secures the ADC presidential ticket, he would require the support of Nigerians to defeat President Bola Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

“Yes, @atiku is really serious about contesting for the presidency in 2027, @InibeheEffiong.

“He is currently engaging the leaders, stakeholders and members of the @ADCNig on the viability of his candidacy,” Ibeh wrote.

“When he eventually emerges as the presidential candidate of the ADC, he will need everyone, including you, to oust the Tinubu-led APC administration and pave the way for the rebuilding of Nigeria made desolate by Tinubu’s urban bandits.

“No matter how big an iroko tree, it can never be a forest. It will need other trees, big and small, and even shrubs to be a forest.

“The question is, are Nigerians prepared to leave the Biblical Egypt of slavery and suffering that Tinubu has turned our country into?” he added.
