Ayisha Ali Bello has launched a major women empowerment initiative in Kogi Central Senatorial District, distributing cash gifts, industrial sewing machines, grinding machines, bags of rice and other support items to women across the district.
The empowerment outreach, held in Okene on Wednesday, attracted women, political stakeholders, community leaders and beneficiaries from different parts of Kogi Central who gathered to receive the items aimed at supporting small businesses and improving household income.
The programme focused on economic support for women through vocational tools and small-scale business assistance at a time many families are facing rising economic pressure.
Speaking during the event, the wife of the Chief of Staff to the Governor of Kogi State, Hajiya Ayisha Ali Bello, said the initiative was designed to help women become financially independent and reduce hardship among vulnerable families.
According to her, empowering women remains important because of the role they play in supporting families and contributing to community development.
“This outreach is part of our commitment to touching lives, encouraging self-reliance and creating opportunities for women to grow their businesses and support their homes,” she said.
She also commended Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for creating what she described as an enabling environment for women empowerment and development across the state.
Ayisha Ali Bello further appreciated her husband, Alhaji Ali Bello, for supporting the initiative and helping her extend humanitarian interventions to more women in Kogi Central.
Beneficiaries at the event described the programme as timely, especially amid current economic challenges affecting many households.
Some of the women said the sewing machines, grinding machines and cash support received would help them expand their businesses, increase income and cater for their families.
Community leaders and stakeholders who attended the outreach also praised the initiative, describing it as a practical intervention that would positively impact women and small business owners across the district.
