Bangladeshi Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman is visiting China for three days from May 5 to 7 at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi, according to Chinese state media.
Rahman’s first visit to China since taking office in February this year, the trip comes as the two countries seek to “enhance political mutual trust” and deepen cooperation across areas including the Belt and Road framework.
Chinese officials described Beijing and Dhaka as “friends and close neighbors” whose ties have seen “sustained and steady progress” over decades.
Beijing said it hopes to use the visit to expand exchanges with Bangladesh’s new government and strengthen the broader bilateral partnership.
