Being a university graduate shaped my career — Davido + Video

Nigerian music star, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has underscored the importance of education despite having a successful career as a musician.

During a homecoming to his alma mater, Babcock University in Ogun State, he strongly rejected the popular phrase: “School is a scam.”

He emphasized that his academic background remains a unique source of pride, revealing that getting an education helped shape his career.

Davido proudly stated that being a graduate allows him to brag to his colleagues in an entertainment industry where finishing school is not common.

“Babcock University shaped my career. I always brag to colleagues that I went to school and graduated. Not everyone who started school got to finish,” he said.

He further disclosed that balancing global stardom with rigorous classes built the mental discipline needed to sustain his high-profile career.

Davido graduated with a degree from the musical department of Babcock University.

He previously revealed that his dad gave him a condition to go to the university in order to be allowed to do music.

Davido also disclosed that he met his wife, Chioma Adeleke, in Babcock University.

He released a lot of his hit songs while still in school.
