President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has raised fresh alarm over what he described as intense pushback from powerful economic interests who are allegedly unhappy with his administration’s reforms, especially the removal of fuel subsidy and the unification of Nigeria’s foreign exchange system.

The President said some groups who previously benefited from the old subsidy regime and multiple exchange rate system are now working behind the scenes to undermine his government.
