Pascal Okechukwu, the Nigerian socialite popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, has lost the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for a seat in the House of Representatives.
Cubana was contesting to become the APC candidate for the Orsu/Orlu/Oru East federal constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He lost the party ticket to Canice More Nwachukwu, the incumbent lawmaker representing the constituency, who is currently serving his second term in the House of Representatives.
Cubana formally declared his political ambition in late April 2026 after purchasing the APC expression of interest and nomination forms.
The socialite previously served as an aide to Hope Uzodinma, the governor of Imo State.
During a meeting with aspirants on Thursday, Uzodinma reportedly declined to endorse any candidate and instead urged all contestants to test their popularity at the grassroots level.
Cubana has consistently expressed support for the ruling APC and President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
He was recently appointed as the Imo director of the City Boy Movement (CBM), a youth-driven support group backing Tinubu’s re-election campaign.
