Dangote Refinery raises petrol price to N1,350/litre

DANGOTE REFINERY

Dangote petroleum refinery has increased its ex-depot price of premium motor spirit (petrol) to N1,350 per litre.

This marks another upward adjustment in the downstream market.

The new price, confirmed on Wednesday, represents a N75 increase from the previous N1,275 per litre and has been implemented across all loading points.

A senior official said the revised pricing has already taken effect across distribution channels, prompting marketers to adjust their rates.

“The new pricing template has been activated across the board. All loading points have been updated, and marketers are already responding by adjusting their depot prices. This is not an isolated change; it reflects prevailing supply and cost pressures in the system,” the source said.

The latest hike comes barely a week after the refinery raised its price from N1,200 to N1,275 per litre, underscoring a rapid pace of adjustments in recent weeks.

Industry observers note that the development highlights the refinery’s growing influence on domestic fuel pricing, as operators respond to shifting supply conditions and rising operational costs.

Despite the increases, a senior official of the Dangote Group recently disclosed that the refinery has been absorbing part of the cost by subsidising petrol and diesel supplied to the local market.
