The Delta State Bursary and Scholarship Board has announced the commencement of registration for the 2025/2026 Students Special Assistance Scheme (SSAS) Bursary Award Programme for eligible students of Delta State origin studying in approved tertiary institutions across Nigeria.
The scheme is part of the Delta State Government’s effort to support students financially and improve access to tertiary education through targeted educational intervention programmes.
According to the Board, online registration for the 2025/2026 SSAS bursary programme will officially begin on Monday, May 11, 2026, and close on Wednesday, June 10, 2026.
Interested applicants are expected to complete their registration through the official portal of the Delta State Bursary and Scholarship Board.
To qualify for the programme, applicants must be indigenes of Delta State, possess a valid National Identification Number (NIN), and be full-time students in approved universities, polytechnics, monotechnics, or colleges of education across the country.
The Board also stated that applicants must have a minimum CGPA of 2.20 and meet the approved academic level requirements for their institution category.
For university students, only those in 200 Level and above are eligible to apply. Polytechnic and monotechnic applicants must be in ND II or HND II, while students in colleges of education must be in NCE II or NCE III.
Postgraduate students, including PGD, Masters, and PhD students, are not eligible for the bursary programme.
Applicants are required to complete the online application process, upload relevant documents, provide accurate academic and personal information, pay a non-refundable processing fee of ₦800, and print their acknowledgement slip after successful submission.
The Board advised students to complete their applications within the approved timeline and monitor official communication channels for updates regarding verification exercises and other important announcements.
