A 4.1-magnitude earthquake struck Nepal’s Darchula district on Sunday, according to the Earthquake Monitoring and Research Centre. No casualties or property damage have been reported so far.

The tremor, with its epicentre at Tapovan in Darchula district, was recorded at 11:55 am, according to the Earthquake Monitoring and Research Centre.
There were no immediate reports of any loss of life or damage to property due to the quake.
Nepal, which records frequent earthquakes every year, is located in one of the world’s most active tectonic regions, falling under Seismic Zones IV and V. This makes the country highly vulnerable to seismic activity.
The Himalayan nation is ranked as the 11th most earthquake-prone country in the world.
