After the victory, Keter introduced his better half to his constituents. Many Kenyans had not previously seen the MP’s wife, and the moment drew warm reactions online and in the room.
Taking a light, affectionate tone, Keter handed the microphone to Bot Neno and thanked her for the role she plays at home.
“She takes care of me at home,” he said, addressing guests.
He lovingly referred to her as “Mama Chepng’eno,” calling her the “First Lady of Emurua Dikirr,” and asked her to continue welcoming visitors, now including those who will come to Nairobi following his inauguration.
“I had told her we would go to Nairobi so that you could also help me take care of people there. I know they are coming to Nairobi. Karibisha hao ata hapa saa hii Mama Neno,” he told her before she stepped forward to greet the assembled guests.
