The unusual scene, captured amid the chaos of the demonstrations, quickly circulated on social media, sparking mixed reactions from Kenyans who debated both the protest actions and the symbolism of the act.

In a viral photo, the Meru man, in jeans and gamboots, was seen walking home with the signage, leaving many wondering why he would vandalise and go through the trouble of taking it home.

“Of what use will this be to him?” one Kenyan hilariously asked while reacting to the viral photo.

The incident occurred during protests linked to the ongoing public frustration over increased fuel costs, which had triggered demonstrations across several towns in the first two days of the week.
