Fubara: People Who Are Supporting Him Are Confused, As They Ask, ‘Where Does He Stand?’ – Ohaegbu

In a recent interview on Symfoni TV, Obunike Ohaegbu, a former Federal Commissioner of the Public Complaints Commission (PPC), spoke on the ongoing political crisis in Rivers State and the growing uncertainty surrounding Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s political direction ahead of the 2027 general elections.…....

During the interview, Ohaegbu stated, “People who are supporting him are confused, as they ask, ‘Where does he stand?’” He made the remark while analysing the political tensions between Fubara and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

He explained that many political supporters and observers are uncertain about Fubara’s long-term political strategy because of the governor’s approach to managing relationships within the existing political structure in Rivers State. According to him, the absence of a clearly defined political position has created mixed reactions among those backing the governor.

Ohaegbu noted that political leadership often requires decisive positioning, especially during periods of internal party conflict and shifting alliances. He added that supporters usually expect leaders to communicate their direction clearly in order to strengthen confidence and unity within their camp.

He further stated that the Rivers State political crisis has continued to attract national attention because of the influence of key actors involved and the implications for future political alignments ahead of the 2027 elections.

The former commissioner also argued that uncertainty within political movements can weaken support bases, particularly when rival factions are actively competing for control and influence within party structures.

Ohaegbu concluded that political clarity and strategic decision-making will remain important factors for leaders seeking to maintain public confidence as political activities and coalition-building intensify across the country ahead of the next general elections.
