Fresh political reactions have erupted online following reports that Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde is preparing to formally declare his ambition to contest the 2027 presidential election, alongside a political alliance involving the Allied Peoples Movement (APM).
Recent reports indicate that Makinde may unveil his presidential ambition during a political rally in Ibadan tagged “Unity Mega Rally Ibadan 2026.” Multiple outlets also reported ongoing talks surrounding a PDP-APM alliance ahead of the 2027 elections. However, there has not yet been an official public confirmation directly from Makinde announcing that he has fully dumped the PDP for APM.
The development has nevertheless triggered widespread reactions online, with many Nigerians debating the possible impact on opposition politics ahead of 2027.
