Hajj 2026: Lagos receives allocation of Mina, Arafah tents from NAHCON

The Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has taken possession of its Mina and Arafah tents allocation from the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria.

This was disclosed in a press release signed by the Board’s Director, Public Affairs, Taofeek Lawal.

Lawal revealed that the allocation exercise was led by the NAHCON’s Chairman/CEO, Ambassador Ismail Abba Yusuf and other officials. It took place in Mina and Arafah.

The board’s spokesperson said Lagos was allocated Tent 26 under arrangements put in place by Mashariq Sana Al Dhahabiah Company, Nigeria’s service provider in the Holy Land.

Reacting to the development, Chairman of the Mina and Arafah Sub-Committee, Engr. Shakiru Ayinde Gafar, who led the Lagos delegation, expressed satisfaction with the tents and available facilities.

“The pilgrims will enjoy substantial comfort while performing the main Hajj rites in both Mina and the Plain of Arafat,” Gafar said.

According to the Hajj timetable, Lagos pilgrims will proceed to Mina on Sunday, May 24 to begin the major rites, which will last from Monday, 8th Dhul Hijjah to Friday, 12th Dhul Hijjah, 1447 AH (May 25 – 29, 2026) 
During this period, pilgrims will carry out key rites, including standing at Mount Arafah, spending the night at Muzdalifah, and the stoning of the Jamarat.
