A family from Awendo in Migori County is grief-stricken following the death of Lousi Aoko Ogony, a mother, wife, daughter, and sister.

Aoko was a police officer stationed in Nakuru East Sub-county at the time of her death.
What happened to Lousi Aoko Ogony?
The 36-year-old passed away on April 23, 2026, while giving birth through a caesarean section.
Her death came as a devastating blow to her husband and family, especially as she had survived a tragic road accident two years earlier that claimed the lives of her two young sons and younger sister.

According to the family, she passed away at Nakuru Specialist Hospital, where she had been admitted for delivery. A post-mortem examination later revealed that she died from a pulmonary embol*sm.
Tragically, her newborn baby girl also died, deepening the pain and sorrow for the grieving family.
Aoko had been building a beautiful life with her husband and children until April 9, 2024, when the tragic accident occurred.
Despite losing her children, she, with the unwavering support of her loving husband, Fredrick Otieno, worked hard to regain her strength and mobility.
How did Aoko’s husband mourn her?
“We truly walked this journey together after the road accident at Ngata. We travelled far and wide searching for medical help, holding on to hope and refusing to give up. By God’s grace, you were able to walk without any physical support within four months after the accident,” read part of her husband’s tribute.
Fredrick also expressed his deep grief, noting how painful it was to lose his wife and daughter when they were yet to fully recover from the loss of their two young sons.

“One of the greatest testimonies to your strength is our last child. After recovering from the injuries sustained in the road carnage, you still carried our child with courage and grace. Your health improved, and you nurtured life within you. Now you have departed with our daughter. Life is indeed a mystery, but your spirit will continue living on,” he said.
