“Help him stop cheating, don’t be self-seeking” – Daniel Etim Effiong advises women on handling infidelity

Nollywood actor Daniel Etim Effiong has sparked reactions after sharing his opinion on how women should handle infidelity in relationships and marriage.

Speaking during a podcast show with media personality Ifedayo Agoro, the actor stated that women should not immediately focus on themselves when their partners cheat, but instead try to understand the situation and help their men overcome it.

“When your man cheats on you, the first thing you should do is try to find ways to help him come out of that problem and make him stop cheating on you. Don’t be self-seeking about it,” he claimed.

Daniel explained that cheating should be approached as an issue that needs attention and resolution rather than something to react to emotionally alone.

The actor, who has been married to popular entrepreneur Toyosi Etim-Effiong since 2017 with three adorable children, also advised women to focus on communication and understanding if they want to build stronger relationships and marriages.

His comment has continued to generate conversations online as Nigerians share different opinions on infidelity, marriage, and relationship expectations.

“One user wrote, “So women are now therapists for cheating men too?” Another added, “Communication is important in relationships, but cheating is still a choice.”
