Former Anambra State governor and 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has declared that no Nigerian politician, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, possesses more experience than him in building businesses from the ground up.
Obi made the statement in a video shared on the official X handle of TheCable on Friday, May 15, 2026, while speaking about the 2027 presidential election and his background in business and leadership.
In the video, the former Anambra governor argued that his experience in entrepreneurship and private sector management distinguishes him from other political leaders in the country. According to him, he successfully built businesses from scratch and transformed them into reputable enterprises with both local and international recognition.
“I built businesses from scratch into reputable businesses locally and internationally. Nobody today, including the President (Tinubu), can claim to have passed through my experience,” Obi stated.
The remarks have since generated reactions across political and social media circles, with supporters praising Obi’s business credentials while critics questioned the comparison with President Tinubu.
Obi has consistently presented himself as a leader with practical experience in economic management, investment, and entrepreneurship.
