Speaking during an interview on the BTS Reality Show, the actress explained that intimate scenes on set are often misunderstood by viewers and partners. According to her, kissing scenes are far from enjoyable because of the number of people present during filming.
“If you have twenty people watching you while kissing in the movie, it is impossible to enjoy it,” she said, adding that the atmosphere on set makes it impossible to “get in the mood.”
Okunzuwa said she would gladly support the removal of such scenes if audiences could still enjoy movies without them, noting that they can be emotionally draining and damaging to relationships.
Recalling one experience, she revealed that a former boyfriend confronted her after seeing a video of her kissing a colleague in a movie scene.
“These things affect our personal relationships. For instance, I had to leave a relationship because of this,” she said.
The actress also admitted that dating within the entertainment industry comes with challenges, saying she understands why some people avoid relationships with actresses.
“It is hard; it is not easy. I do not blame people who say they cannot date actresses because it is not everyone who can take certain things,” she added.
