GHANA: Residents of a busy local market were thrown into panic after a 21-year-old woman was reportedly caught attempting to steal a baby before allegedly confessing to being involved in child trafficking activities.

According to eyewitnesses, the incident happened during peak business hours when traders and shoppers noticed unusual movements around a woman carrying a baby that was later discovered not to be hers. Suspicion reportedly grew after the child’s mother raised an alarm, attracting the attention of people nearby.
The young woman was allegedly intercepted by angry traders and passersby before she could leave the market area. In videos and accounts circulating online, the suspect was seen surrounded by a crowd as questions were thrown at her concerning the child.
