“I Used To Hide From Our Landlord” – Victor Osimhen Opens Up About Family Struggles Growing Up

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has emotionally reflected on his difficult childhood and the financial struggles his family faced while growing up.

Speaking about his upbringing, the football star revealed that his mother was the main breadwinner of the family before her passing, adding that her death deeply affected the household financially and emotionally.

According to Osimhen, despite his mother being the provider, there was never conflict between his parents over money.

“My mom was the breadwinner of the family, but she and my dad never had issues because of it,” he said.

He explained that things became extremely difficult after her death, forcing the family into hardship.

“It broke my dad and we started facing serious struggles. I used to hide anytime I saw the landlord coming because he would insult me over the rent my dad owed.”

The emotional revelation quickly sparked reactions online, with many Nigerians sympathizing with the footballer and praising his rise from hardship to global success.

One user wrote:

“Despite the past, Osimhen keeps showing up for the street. God will bless you more.”

Another commented:

“No condition is permanent in this life, may God help us.”

Some social media users also highlighted the role supportive women play in many homes.

“There are a lot of women who are breadwinners in their marriage and they don’t speak or act like it,” one reaction read.

However, a few users questioned parts of the story, suggesting celebrities sometimes exaggerate their struggles.

“All this fit be cooked up story make the success thing loud,” another user wrote.
