Veteran gospel singer Tope Alabi has shared emotional details about some of the painful experiences she allegedly encountered with people she once helped in the music industry, revealing why she eventually decided to stop accommodating and supporting others.
The respected gospel artiste spoke about several incidents involving individuals and couples she welcomed into her home at different times, only for the relationships to end in conflict, betrayal and fear. According to her, those experiences deeply affected both her personal life and family.
While narrating one of the incidents, Tope Alabi recalled how she and her household tried to support a talented female artiste and her husband. She explained that the lady’s music career had already begun gaining attention while living under her roof, but problems allegedly started because of the husband’s attitude.
“I never knew these people (Husband and wife) are so dramatic. The Husband insisted it’s forbidden for a man to help his wife, that he can’t help her with either the guitar or the drums.”
The singer said the woman was doing well musically at the time and had already recorded projects within her home studio environment using the same producer she worked with on her own music.
“This lady had started making it then, she already did 2 Albums under my roof infact it was the same person that was helping me to produce my Album then that did for her.”
According to Tope Alabi, things later became uncomfortable because the husband allegedly refused to support his wife’s growth while still wanting to enjoy luxury and authority within her household.
“This husband became so toxic and never wanted to help but wanted to be living a big man lifestyle under our roof and even wanted to cause problems in my home, l had to beg them to leave our house then.”
She further claimed that after the couple left, the woman’s once-promising career gradually lost momentum.
“That was how the glory of that talented lady went off.”
The gospel minister also spoke about another married couple she once assisted, describing the experience as equally painful and difficult.
“The second people were also husband and wife, they ganged up against me, it was so terrible.”
Speaking further, Tope Alabi recounted another shocking incident involving individuals she accused of turning against her after she asked them to leave her residence.
According to her, they allegedly moved in with people she considered enemies and shared private information about her spiritual life and prayers.
“While the third people were all out to kpai me, immediately l asked them to leave, they went straight to my enemies house and started living with my enemy and even told them my prayer point and how l used to pray against my enemies.”
The singer alleged that the situation later escalated into serious spiritual attacks against her and members of her family, although she believes divine intervention protected them.
“This last set wanted to kpai me if not for God behind and my family.”
“Different arrows were sh0t at me but l thank God, the lord rescued me and my family.”
Following the series of unpleasant encounters, Tope Alabi said she finally reached a personal decision to stop helping people within the entertainment industry because of the betrayals she experienced from those she once trusted.
“That was when l came to the conclusion that l will never help anyone again in this industry because most people are £vil.”
