Speaking on the Tea With Tay Podcast, Henshaw shared that while she once wished she had a son, she remains grateful for her daughter and considers her a major blessing in her life.
She explained that her daughter has excelled academically and linguistically, noting her strong abilities in multiple foreign languages. According to her, the young woman is fluent in Mandarin and has also travelled to China, an experience Henshaw highlighted with pride. She further added that her daughter is proficient in French and Italian, languages she picked up through formal learning and personal interest.
Henshaw described her daughter as exceptionally bright and hardworking, emphasizing that her intelligence goes beyond academics into practical communication skills. She noted that her daughter’s exposure to different cultures and languages has contributed to her development and global outlook.
In her words, she said she is extremely proud of her daughter and grateful to have her as her only child. She also reflected on her personal desire for a male child in the past, explaining that she had even already chosen a name at the time, but has since fully embraced and appreciated her daughter’s uniqueness and achievements.
“I am so proud of her… she is extremely intelligent, she speaks Mandarin very well,” she said, adding that her daughter also speaks French fluently and studied Italian during secondary school.
