
The management of Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company Plc (IBEDC), Monday, confirmed the abduction of two of its staff members under the Ogun region of the company.
The company in a statement made available to Blueprint.ng in Ilorin, stated that the two staff were abducted on Wednesday, April 29, 2026.
Though, the company did not release further details of the abduction and the victims identities, it however, assured that efforts were ongoing in collaboration with security agencies to secure their release.
“We are deeply concerned about this situation, and our thoughts are with our colleagues and their families at this difficult time.
“IBEDC is working closely with relevant security agencies to ensure the safe return of the affected staff. We are also in active engagement with their families, providing the necessary support.
“Given the sensitive nature of this incident and ongoing efforts to resolve it, we are unable to provide further details at this time.
“We kindly request understanding and restraint as we prioritize the safety and well-being of those involved. We will provide updates as appropriate,” the statement reads.
