If Kemi Becomes The Next PM Of Britain, That’s The End Of Japa For Nigerians -Shehu Sani Reveals

Senator Shehu Sani, former lawmaker and public commentator, has reacted to the growing political prominence of Kemi Badenoch in the United Kingdom, suggesting that her potential leadership role could influence migration patterns from Nigeria to the UK.

In a post shared on his verified X (formerly Twitter) account, the former senator stated that if Badenoch eventually becomes Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, it could significantly impact the trend popularly known in Nigeria as “Japa,” which refers to the large-scale movement of Nigerians abroad in search of better opportunities.

Sani noted that a Badenoch-led government may adopt stricter immigration policies, which could make it more difficult for Nigerians to relocate to the UK for education, employment, or asylum purposes. He implied that such policy direction could reduce the current level of migration to the country.
