A disturbing video making rounds on social media has sparked widespread reactions after a Nigerian lady was reportedly apprehended for smoking weed wrapped in torn pages of the Bible.
In the viral footage, the woman, dressed in a colourful outfit and a white hijab, was seen holding what appeared to be cannabis rolled with pages allegedly torn from a Bible while being questioned by a man behind the camera.
During the exchange, the woman openly admitted to the act and appeared unbothered by the accusations levelled against her.
“I am very proud of what I’m using,” she said.
When asked whether she was smoking the substance, the woman responded, “Yes, to pray!”
The man recording the video claimed the woman had previously undergone rehabilitation after authorities reportedly removed her two children from her custody over concerns about her mental and emotional condition.
According to him, she had shown signs of recovery after receiving treatment and allegedly promised to stop smoking weed before she was allowed to return home.
He, however, alleged that the woman recently relapsed and was again caught smoking cannabis wrapped in pages torn from the Bible.
“She tears a portion of the Bible and wraps the weed with it. This is what she’s smoking,” the man said in the clip.
The narrator further claimed the woman caused a disturbance near the entrance of a children’s school earlier in the day, prompting concerned individuals to intervene.
“She has deteriorated seriously and has been causing nuisance,” he added.
