The Chairman of Imota Local Council Development Area, Hon. Benson Sunday Ayodele, has commended the Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Defence and member representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, for the construction of a new block of six classrooms at Methodist Primary School, Imota, describing the project as a significant contribution to educational development within the community.
Hon. Benson gave the commendation during the official commissioning ceremony of the newly completed classroom block held on Thursday, 7 May, 2026, at the school premises in Imota. The event attracted political leaders, education stakeholders, community leaders, teachers, parents, pupils, and residents who gathered to witness the unveiling of the educational facility.
Speaking at the occasion, the council Chairman praised Rep. Babajimi Benson for his continuous commitment to grassroots development and unwavering support for the education sector across Ikorodu Federal Constituency. He noted that the newly constructed classrooms would provide a more conducive learning environment for pupils and further improve the standard of primary education in Imota LCDA.
According to Hon. Benson, the project reflects the lawmaker’s passion for human capital development and his determination to invest in initiatives that directly impact the lives of the people. He added that the intervention would help reduce overcrowding in classrooms while creating a better atmosphere for effective teaching and learning.
In his remarks, Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, who was represented by the Chairman of the Ikorodu Local Government Education Authority, Alhaji Taiwo Odumbo, reaffirmed his commitment to supporting educational advancement and infrastructural growth within the constituency. He stated that education remains one of the most important pillars of societal development, stressing that investments in schools are investments in the future of children and the nation at large.
The federal lawmaker appreciated the people of Imota LCDA for their continued support and confidence in his representation, assuring them that more developmental projects would be attracted to the constituency. He also urged pupils of the school to remain focused on their studies and make proper use of the new facilities provided for their academic growth and development.
In his goodwill message, APC Apex Leader in Ikorodu Division, Rev. (Dr.) Col. Bolaji Titilola Onafowakan (Rtd.), applauded the developmental strides of Rep. Babajimi Benson and the leadership of Hon. Benson Sunday Ayodele, noting that the classroom project would leave a lasting impact on the educational growth of children within the community.
Also speaking, the Head Girl of the school, Miss Lawal Istijaba, expressed appreciation on behalf of the pupils for the new classrooms, promising that the pupils would make good use of the facility.
The Headmistress of Methodist Primary School, Mrs. Ajimot Damilola, expressed gratitude to the lawmaker and the Imota LCDA administration for prioritizing the welfare of pupils and improving educational infrastructure in the area. She described the classroom project as timely and impactful, noting that it would contribute immensely to the academic and moral development of the children.

The commissioning ceremony ended with goodwill messages, prayers, and a tour of the newly completed classroom block by dignitaries and guests.
