Popular TV host Frank Edoho has responded to allegations by his estranged wife, Sandra Onyenucheya, who accused him of infidelity, emotional abuse, and neglect of his parental responsibilities following the breakdown of their marriage.…....
According to The Punch, Edoho denied the claims and made counter-allegations, saying the marriage was already deeply strained before the final separation. He said he made efforts to save the relationship mainly for the sake of his children, but alleged that things worsened after he discovered an alleged relationship between Sandra and singer Chike.
He insisted that the alleged affair played a major role in the collapse of the marriage and said reconciliation eventually became impossible despite his attempts to manage the situation privately.
Edoho also recounted confronting the man he believed was involved, claiming he questioned him about his actions and warned him to stay away from his wife. He said he mentioned having recordings of their conversations and urged him to stop, saying he wanted peace for the sake of his children.
He added that although he was willing to overlook the issue for his children’s sake, the situation reportedly continued despite his warnings.
Edoho further alleged that Sandra actively encouraged the relationship with the singer despite his efforts to preserve the marriage.
“In the audio, she was the one encouraging the guy. I don’t know what I did to deserve that. I sent her to school in 2010 and 2011 and I said she should do a business. We settled for interior design, and I found her first carpenter for her. I raised everything and studied interior design photography because of her for four years.
“I was doing all that for my wife until I raised her to the point that trouble started. She felt she was big and started an affair with this guy,” he added.
The veteran broadcaster further disclosed that there was a period during which he left the marriage for about three months before Sandra allegedly persuaded him to return.
Speaking on the divorce proceedings, Edoho claimed that Sandra initiated legal action after she realised that he had moved on emotionally. He stated that she reportedly became angry after seeing him with another woman and subsequently filed for divorce.
He also quoted her as saying that there was a moment when she saw him with a “beautiful girl” after which she took him to court to demand a divorce, describing the action as one taken out of anger.
He further alleged that she demanded N4m monthly for the upkeep of their children, but said he refused, insisting that such an arrangement was not acceptable. He added that when he presented his evidence in court, the judge reminded both parties that children were involved and urged caution in handling the matter.
Edoho also stated that he intended to release evidence to support his claims. According to him, he used technology to secretly record her phone conversations with singer Chike after she allegedly promised not to return to the relationship. He further claimed that some leaked audio recordings suggested that Sandra had admitted that the divorce was not his fault.
