How fast did the Guinness World Record title holder take to make 3 chapatis?

This comes just over six months after Dorcas attempted the fete on December 15, 2025, and finished in a record-winning 2:26:92 minutes.

Taking to Facebook to celebrate, Dorcas, known as Doky Dorcas on the platform, shared the email she received from the organisation, finally confirming her success.

She shared that she had been mocked and insulted over the past six months with a barrage of Kenyans minimising her achievements.

“Have been waiting for this day for so long, God nimekula stray bullets kila kona, thank you God, you have wiped my tears,” she wrote on Facebook.

In a series of posts since the confirmation on Thursday, June 26, Dorcas has been celebrating the achievements in different ways and encouraging other Kenyans.

In one of the posts, she even cited it as a win for Kenya, as the previous holder of that specific title was a Ugandan.

“This win is not just for me but for my lovely country, Kenya. The previous holder was a Ugandan, and it’s now officially for Kenya,” she said.

In the midst of the celebrations, however, she has still been receiving criticism online from some Kenyans who claim her claims of having been ratified are falsified to increase engagement and her social media following.

So far, she has had to make various videos and posts to convince the doubters about it.

A spot check by NGBREAKINGNEWS on the Guinness World Records official website found that Dorcas has indeed been ratified as the title winner, dethroning her Ugandan predecessor with 43 seconds to spare.

“The fastest time to make three chapatis is 2 min 26.92 sec, and was achieved by Dorcas Kwamboka (Kenya), in Ongata Rongai, Kenya, on 15 December 2025,” Guinness World Records confirmed.

“Dorcas Kwamboka is a chef based in Ongata Rongai, Kenya, with a passion for food, cooking, and record-breaking. She has always enjoyed making chapatis, so she put her skills to the test and managed to beat the previous record by 43 seconds.”

Why did Dorcas Kwamboka attempt fastest chapati making fete?

When she made the attempt in December last year, she described chapati not just as a staple food for Kenyans but a livelihood. A source of income for her and her family.

“Chapati pays my rent, educates my child and takes care of all other needs in my house and parents’ house,” Dorcas stated.

“By proving that chapatis can be cooked faster, efficiently, and skilfully, I wanted to show that time saved is money gained. Faster cooking means less fuel, less energy, less fatigue, and more chapatis sold, increasing daily profits for small vendors, especially women.”
