Iran-US-Israel War Live Updates: Tensions between Iran and the United States escalated once again after fresh military action was reported around the Strait of Hormuz, even as US President Donald Trump insisted that a ceasefire remained active.

Iran’s military claimed that US forces targeted an Iranian oil tanker in coastal waters and struck another vessel near Fujairah port in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Iranian authorities also alleged that American air strikes hit civilian locations in Bandar Khamir, Sirik and Qeshm Island in southern Iran.

Air defence systems were reportedly activated over western Tehran.

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) stated that its naval units faced missile, drone and fast-boat attacks from Iranian forces in the Strait of Hormuz. It said US forces responded by destroying “inbound threats” and targeting “Iranian military facilities responsible for attacking US forces”.

Trump described the strikes on Iranian targets as a “love tap” and said, “the ceasefire is going. It’s in effect”. He later told reporters: “They trifled with us. We blew them away,” while also claiming that negotiations aimed at ending the conflict were “going very well”.

Separately, Palestinian detainees alleged that they faced torture and sexual violence in Israeli prisons. Israeli strikes in southern Lebanon also reportedly killed at least 11 people, including children, in the Nabatieh district.
