  • Nollywood actor and filmmaker Lateef Adedimeji has gained attention due to the birth of his triplets.
  • A social media personality named MS Baba has sparked controversy by criticizing the names chosen for the children.

Nollywood actor and filmmaker Lateef Adedimeji has remained in the spotlight following the arrival of his newborn triplets.

However, a social media personality identified as MS Baba recently stirred controversy online after criticizing the actor over the names given to the children.

In a video shared on TikTok, MS Baba expressed displeasure that Lateef chose Arabic names for the triplets instead of traditional Yoruba names. He argued that the actor, who often promotes Yoruba culture in his films, should have reflected that same cultural identity in naming his children.

The critic further claimed that, considering Lateef’s “education and exposure,” he ought to have prioritized his indigenous heritage. He even suggested that the names might eventually be changed when the children grow older.

Recall that the actor and his wife, fellow Nollywood star Mo Bimpe, recently held a private Islamic naming ceremony for the triplets at their Lagos residence, attended by close family members and friends.

During the ceremony, the children were named Abdul Rahman Taiwo, Abdul Rahim Kehinde, and AbdulRoqeeb Idowu Adebare.
