Luo comedian Pengele dares estranged wife over matrimonial home dispute

Luo comedian Pengele dared his estranged wife to stop intimidating him over their matrimonial home.

The comedian has been trending on social media after he aired his marital issues on social media over alleged intimidation from his estranged spouse.

Pengele, who lives in Kenya, and his spouse, who lives abroad, built their matrimonial home on his ancestral land, but it has now become a subject for debate.

The comedian has accused his wife of sending goons to their homestead to intimidate him after a court ruling favoured him, after reportedly financing the home.

According to Pengele’s close friend Jaruda Mambobiad, he grew up with Pengele in Huruam, and the comedian has hosted many of his friends at his home.

“I normally avoid doing reaction videos about people I know personally. I grew up with Pengele in Ngei (Huruma) and he also entertained many of us at Mathare North Social Hall. Beyond the public persona, he is a genuinely good human being. Now there’s an ongoing dispute between Pengele and his estranged wife over their matrimonial home,” Jaruda said.

Jaruda noted that even though the estranged wife financed the home, the court ruled that his friend should retain ownership of the home because it was built on his ancestral land.

“His former wife wants back the house, she says she financed it with her own money. However, after their divorce, the court ruled that Pengele should retain ownership because the home was built on his ancestral land in Kagan – Homa Bay County, where he comes from.”

There are receipts Pengele presented in court showing that he contributed materials and resources towards the construction of the house.

“Pengele also presented receipts and evidence in court showing how he contributed materials and resources toward constructing the house. In the end, the court ruled in Pengele’s favour. Pengele now claims that his former wife is using goons and compromised police officers to intimidate him because she is financially powerful. Lawyers, law enforcement officers, legal minds and wadaku or wajuaji… help us understand: in situations like this, how should matrimonial property disputes be handled after a court ruling has already been made?” Jaruda questioned.

He shared a video of his friend, the comedian, daring his estranged wife to do her worst while showcasing the matrimonial home.

“I will die in this home. Get into the aeroplane. Go to court because you know the case is already closed. We are not going anywhere,” Pengele said.
