According to Adelabu, the president is considering a consensus arrangement among aspirants to avoid internal divisions. However, he noted that no specific individual has been endorsed for the ticket at this stage.

Adelabu further stated that the president has outlined an alternative plan should consensus talks fail, signaling the possibility of a more competitive process within the party.

Highlighting his closeness to Tinubu, Adelabu described himself as the most loyal ally of the president in Oyo State, a claim likely to stir reactions among other contenders within the APC.

Quoting the president’s position on the selection process, Adelabu said:
