My Governorship Aspiration Not for Personal Gain, Says Lagos APC Aspirant Ajose

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Lagos and governorship aspirant, Dr. Samuel Mawuyon Ajose has said that his ambition to govern the state is not for personal gains but in the collective interest of the people of Badagry.

He however made it clear that he will run an all inclusive government that will directly touches the lives of residents in which no part of the state will be left behind if given the mandate.

Dr. Samuel Mawuyon Ajose made this known while featuring on a live Radio programme known as GBAGEDE ORO Special edition on Rainbow 94.1 fm.

He explained that he has nothing personal against the Deputy Governor, Dr. Kadri Hamzat but expect the leadership of the party to reach out to other aspirants in the race before his endorsement.

The business mogul turned politician also wondered why some elders and leaders of the party consulted on his ambition advised him to carry on when they knew that they will eventually endorse the Deputy Governor.

Dr. Mawuyon Ajose assured that he will accept defeat in good faith if the Deputy Governor is chosen during a free, fair and transparent primary election organised by the party in line with the Electoral Act 2026.

The Governorship hopeful however made it clear that his promise to deliver 3.5m votes for the re-election of President Tinubu still stand adding that no one has committed finance as much as he has done in promoting the President not just in Lagos but in the entire South west.

He expressed hope that the leadership of the party will reach out to him and consider the years of neglect of Badagry by offering something tangible to the area.

According to him, efforts to seek audience with Mr. President overtime has not been successful.

Dr. Mawuyon concluded saying that the leadership of the opposition party in Lagos and at the national level has reached out to him to actualise his ambition on their platform but insisted that he remains a party man no matter the circumstances.
