The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has firmly declared that Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, will not be stripped of her position as an ordained pastor in the church despite calls for her removal.

Speaking at the monthly Holy Ghost Service on Saturday, Pastor Adeboye clarified that the First Lady was ordained as an Assistant Pastor over a decade ago, long before her husband, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, expressed any interest in running for the presidency.

He stressed that Oluremi Tinubu underwent the complete ordination process and has not breached any of the church’s rules or guidelines since becoming a pastor.

“The First Lady was ordained more than ten years ago. She went through the full process, and she has not violated any of our guidelines. We will not bow to external pressure to remove her,” Adeboye stated.

The declaration comes amid ongoing public debates and criticisms regarding the involvement of high-profile political figures in pastoral roles within the RCCG.

Pastor Adeboye’s position reaffirms the church’s commitment to its ordination standards and independence from political pressures.
