Speaking during an interview on the Honest Bunch Podcast produced by Glitch Africa Studios, Edochie recalled the final moments he shared with his son on the day of the tragic incident.
According to the actor, Kambilichukwu visited him in his room on the morning before heading to school. He said they spent time chatting, laughing, and teasing each other about the teenager’s height, as he had grown almost as tall as his father.
Edochie explained that after their conversation, his son left for school as usual. However, just a few hours later, he received an urgent phone call requesting that he come to a hospital. Upon arriving, he was devastated to find his son lifeless.
Recounting the painful experience, Edochie said:
“He was my first son. That morning, he came into my room before leaving for school. We talked and laughed about how tall he had become. He was nearly taller than me, and we joked about it. He told me there was only one boy in his class who was taller than him. We had a wonderful conversation and shared some laughs before he left. Then, about three hours later, I received a call asking me to come to the hospital. When I got there, I found him lying there dead.”
