Barrister Damilola Ayinde-Marshal emerged as the consensus candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the Lagos State House of Assembly seat after the party’s primary election held on May 20, 2026.
Her emergence came after several aspirants reportedly stepped down in her favour to support a consensus arrangement. Among those who withdrew their candidacies were Hon. Dr. Alli Sanusi, Hon. Rasaq Ibrahim Olamilekan, and Hon. Qozeem Shittu, paving the way for a smooth and uncontested victory.
Barr. Dami Marshal currently serves as the Senior Special Assistant on Tourism, Arts and Culture to the Governor of Lagos State. She is also widely known as the legal representative of Naira Marley.
Following her victory, videos and photos surfaced online showing the singer and the newly elected APC flag bearer celebrating together. The duo appeared excited as they shared cheerful moments and smiles while supporters gathered around to rejoice with her.
Several party loyalists, friends, and supporters were also present to celebrate Dami Marshal’s success as she officially emerged as the APC candidate for Surulere Constituency II ahead of the 2027 general elections scheduled for February.
