A Nigerian social media user identified as Mr. Samuel Adeboye Adeyeye, popularly known online as “Swanky_concept,” has reportedly been sentenced to two years imprisonment after pleading guilty to spreading false information about the daughter of Nigerian music stars Adekunle Gold and Simi.
According to reports making rounds online, the incident began after the social media user allegedly published a misleading post on X, formerly known as Twitter, falsely announcing the death of the couple’s daughter, Deja. The post quickly attracted attention and generated widespread reactions across social media platforms before it was later confirmed to be false.
Sources revealed that the matter was taken to court, where the defendant reportedly pleaded guilty to charges linked to cyberbullying, defamation, and the deliberate spread of misinformation with malicious intent.
The court subsequently sentenced him to two years imprisonment following his guilty plea. Reports indicate that the judgment was delivered shortly after the case was heard.
