Ojelabi to APC Members: Maintain Peace as You Vote in Primaries

The Chairman of the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Cornelius Ojelabi, has called on party faithful to give peace and decorum a chance as they filed out as from Saturday, 16 May, 2026, to elect the flag bearers of the party in the upcoming 2027 elections

Ojelabi, who is the Chairman of the 36 state Chairmen of the party in the country, appreciated members for their contributions to the progress of the party urging them to continue to support its policies and programs in the interest of deepening our democracy

He called on members of the party to join their counterparts in other states to come out enmasse to elect the candidates of their choice for the 24 House of Representatives seats in Lagos State, assuring them that their safety and security are guaranteed before, during and after the election

The Lagos APC Chairman explained that the party has made necessary arrangements to ensure a peaceful conduct of the election, including providing a level-playing ground for all the aspirants and giving all members equal opportunity to participate in the exercise.

He, however, warned trouble makers to desist from using the exercise to promote rancor and mischief as the party would not tolerate any act of violence, intimidation or division by any member, however highly placed. The party, he said, would not hesitate to deal decisively with any such “anti-progress” act

“We assure our teeming supporters of their safety and security as they come out to vote in this historic primary election of our party as everything that could impede their peace and progress has been taken care of. We, therefore, warn mischief makers to have a rethink as we will not condone any act of sabotage,” he said

Ojelabi also urged the aspirants to call their supporters to order so as not to forment trouble as any violence traced to them may have serious consequences on the aspirant in line with peace accord entered with the party, reminding them that such action may lead to disqualification from the race, suspension for a period of time or summary dismissal from the party.
