“One of them suddenly jumped”- Man recounts escaping kidnapping attempt along Lagos-Ibadan expressway

‎An X user has shared a detailed account of escaping a kidnapping attempt along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

The X user, @phlexyl, disclosed that the incident, which occurred around 7:30 PM, unfolded after one of the kidnappers burst out of the bush.

Man Recounts Kidnap Attempt


As the kidnapper burst out of the bush, he attempted to force the vehicle to a stop and threw an object ahead of its path.

‎ However, he negotiated a slight bend and managed to swerve past it as the other kidnappers attempted to take up positions.

‎Although, he bypassed the man who initially attacked him and sped off, his bonnet, bumper, headlamps, and fender were severely damaged.

Kidnapping Incident In Oyo State

Earlier, GistReel reported that a teacher identified as Michael Oyedokun of Community High School, Ahoro-Esinele, in Oriire LGA, Oyo State, was abducted during a school attack on May 15, 2026.

However, he was beheaded, as seen in a video posted online, with condolences pouring in to the relatives of the deceased.

Seyi Makinde Breaks Silence

Meanwhile, Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has confirmed the incident and provided further details.

According to the governor, security operatives have arrested six suspects linked to the kidnapping.

Additionally, the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria and have publicly condemned the killing.
